The grand entrance of the graduates of John Calvin Presbyterian Playschool's Developmental Kindergarten class of 2008, included the graduation march! The class all lined up and filed in, with calculated breaks between each child to give them a moment of personal glory, to take their place on the stage. I surprised myself by having a "moment", watching my little boy proudly walking to the stage with his flag in hand. He isn't so little anymore! He often impresses me with his knowledge and maturity.

Carston is quite the singer as well! He can be heard well above the rest of the class if he is excited about the song. He has a good sense of pitch and I have always been proud of his musical abilities. His class sang a few songs after reciting the pledge of allegiance. I loved hearing them sing the songs he has been singing for me at home.

When it was time for him to receive his diploma, his teacher called his name out and he clapped, said "that's me!" and skipped across the stage. It was cute.

He was all business coming to show me that it was officially summertime, since he had graduated. He is excited to have some time off.

Carston loved his teachers this year, Miss Sarah and Miss Carol. They were always very complimentary of him and he loved them! I often heard the words: "Miss Sarah said....". Mark and I have been glad that we waited to put Carston into Kindergarten. He has gained a lot of confidence and many skills that will be useful next year in Harold Keller's Kindergarten.

Carston has made a lot of good friends in his class this year. There were only 18 children in his class. Joshua and Addie were two of his favorite friends.

Before leaving graduation, Carston picked up the butterfly he used to decorate the stage. Mark took this special day off from school so he could be at Carston's graduation. Don't my boys look handsome!?

We are having a rainy day, so we enjoyed our Fruitopia umbrella on the way out to the car afterwards. Carston insisted that I cover up his butterfly and was slightly alarmed when I lowered the umbrella for a quick picture. We celebrated the end of the school year by going to Wendy's, yes we are BIG spenders! It was Carston's expressed wish to go there, so we made it extra special by getting everyone their own frosty.
Today has reminded me that we only have one year left until Mark's big graduation day. I will be infinitely proud of him and excited about what he has accomplished. I am so proud of all of my boys and my sweet Peyton!

Congratulations Carston! I miss you buddy!
So exciting to look forward to Kindergarten next year! What a handsome boy. I love that he skipped across the floor, clapped and yelled "that's me" - I can totally picture it.
