Carston was so pleased when his teacher let him bring three crawfish home from school. The point of sending them home was probably so we could eat them, but Carston considered them to be his new pets and thus a part of our family. There were two choices: keep them as pets (and watch them die) or set them free.
Their temporary sanctuary at our house was in our kitchen sink. Jackson and Peyton were terrified of them, but Grant was very curious. Carston sat and watched them "fight" and insisted that we separate them.
We convinced him that they would be happier if they were free, so we packed them up for the car ride to Lake Pontchartrain.
"Give us free!" We recognize they probably didn't survive, but please don't tell Carston.

ewww... those look creepy. Tell us, why did you not eat them? No pressure, not being from here, I wouldn't have either!
We just got 10 lbs of Crayfish just like that. We killed them though. Not to eat them, but to process their DNA. Great fun at BYU.
Todd would have been in heaven!! In Missouri once when we went to Red Lobster cary got a lobster and Todd HAD to take home the claw. Needless to say when he went to bed it "disappeared"!
